Find Speaking Opportunities:Find opportunities to present yourself as an expert in your industry. Whether you speak at business networking groups, schools, local community events or even on the web, focus on helping the listeners understand the industry, what’s trending and how you can help them.
Learn As Much as You Can About Your Industry: In order to be an expert you must stay up-to-date on industry news. Gain knowledge by reading books and articles, watching video clips and going to industry related seminars and presentations. In short, never stop learning. An expert has a vast knowledge of information about their industry on hand at all times.
Be a Wealth of Information: Whether you are posting on Social Media, through Email campaigns, articles on Linkedin or a blog, consistently offer in-depth insight and important information not only for your clients and potential clients, but also for others in your industry. Soon, others will begin to seek you out as their source of information.
Practice What You Preach: If you are presenting information and offering tips to others in your industry make sure you test it first. False or incorrect information can quickly kill your credibility. In other words, double check your checks before telling other how to check their checks.
Believe that you are an Expert: Most importantly you to have confidence in yourself. You must believe you are an expert in your field so that others believe it too. You must project yourself to the world as the expert you know you are.
