Engage More Clients and Get More Leads

Engage More Clients and Get More LeadsYour Next Trade Show
Look Professional: People buy from who they trust and people generally trust more polished and cleanly dressed individuals. One way to seem more trustworthy is to dress for the client you want. Mimicking their style makes people feel comfortable and more likely to hire you.
Booth Space: Keep it clean and professional. Your company probably does a multitude of things, but you have only at most a few minutes with each visitor. Decide on your focus (no more than three topics) and stick to it. And of course, don't forget to brand your booth! People should know immediately which booth they are visiting.
Have Great Literature: The moment someone stands in front of your booth you gain the the opportunity to tell them what your company has to offer as well as send them home with great information. Have one-sheets on hand, brochures and pamphlets, a tablet or a clip-board for newsletter sign-ups and signage linking to your social media. Give them what they need to learn more about you on their own time.

Gather Information: Don't just engage them in conversation and then let them walkaway with no means of follow-up. Offer a sign-up form for follow-up conversations or at the very least a fish bowl for business card drop ins. Most importantly do only 20% of the talking! Ask great questions, find out what they are really looking for, and offer great solutions.
Body Language: Remember these three tips. Smile, Stand and Speak. Smiling tells people you are friendly and open to speaking. Always show the palms of your hands. This action makes you seem more trustworthy. Do not sit. DO NOT SIT. Unless you absolutely need to. Sitting is passive and will not help bring people to your booth. And lastly, be ready to start a conversation.

Promotional Items: Why are their so many pens, keychains and t-shirts at trade shows? Because they work! Think of it as an inexpensive way of re-marketing each person you spent so much time and effort engaging. Give your potential customers something to take home and remember you with.
