About Mark Brewer. . .

While feverishly scratching his pen on paper, Mark Brewer has created a flourishing career. As a native of Connecticut, he saw his drawings first printed each week in his hometown shoreline newspaper at the age of fifteen. Currently residing in Pittsburgh, Mark continues to work with a large client base established from his earlier years in New York City. His driven nature led him early on to work at Guy Gilchrist Productions, a licensing studio in which he worked on established characters from the Muppets, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Warner Brother’s, Animaniacs, and Disney. Before finding his whimsically steeped illustration style, Mark worked on some of the most celebrated syndicated comic strips including Beetle Baily, Nancy, Tom & Jerry, and Slylock Fox to name a few. A handful of influences include Ronald Searle, Shel Silverstein, Jim Henson, Ralph Steadman, and George Booth.

Mark's expressive lines and humorous characters have graced the pages of The Wall Street Journal, Wine & Spirits, Major League Baseball, Yankee, The New York Times, Barron’s, The Washington Post, and his hometown publication Pittsburgh Tribune-Review to name a few. Mark's drawings have parked themselves on the cover of Newsweek, The American Conservative, Politics, Strategic Finance, and Golfstyles among others.

Mark has been the recipient of many awards most notably from the National Cartoonists Society, San Diego Society of Professional Journalists, and the New England Society of Professional Journalists. Mark Brewer is the past President of the Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators (2009-2012). He is the author and illustrator of Brewology, An Illustrated Dictionary for Beer Lovers (Skyhorse Publishing, Inc).

Are you being Anti-Social on Social Media

Are You Being Anti-Social on Social Media? Many companies forget that Social Media is an interactive outlet and think that “posting an update” is enough, but by not using social media correctly they are missing many free opportunities for customer growth. Conversational social media means that you interact with your followers, answer their questions, gear your posts towards what their needs are and are a reliable source of information. Understandably, conversational social media posting is more time consuming, but it is also ten-times more effective.  Get more from your time on social media by getting conversational and making sure you aren’t making these three Anti-Social Media Mistakes.  1.   You are all me, me, me in your posts: Every day you diligently post about your company updates. You include pictures, articles, and interesting facts, but your posts are all about you and your company and don’t speak to those who follow you.  Example Post: “MP Marketing and PR, th
